Leather Care & Clean Engine Bay

On Wednesday, 06 June 2013, we took a drive up to Complete Leather Care @ 130 Oats St, Carlisle to meet up with Frits to gather the leather parts and sections that have been restored for the car.

Frits inspecting the restored leather seats.

Various sections of leather restored and rejuvenated. The interior and trunk carpets will be brought to a different workshop. They will be new carpets, moulded to the specific shape of the car.

Frits' work wagon!

The engine bay. Looking pristine & clean, as if it was new from the factory.

All components have been cleaned, restored and fitted back to proper working order. Several other new components have been shipped from England.

The traditional mechanical distributors ignition system has been replaced with a more improved digital ignition system for reliability. The engine head covers have been sandblasted, cleaned and then powder coated to bring its glossy shine back to normal.

Frits explaining to Abel & Alfred about the new suspension & height control that he has fitted to the car as opposed to the system that was in the car before.

Close up of the retrofitted air cooler for the improved cooling for the gearbox as pointed out in the previous blog entry.

Interior and trunk space stripped of all the carpet, wood and leather. Ready for paint in the coming week!

Hopefully the next post is the first time you'll see the car in red & gold!
